My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for Animal Welfare League of Alexandria Virginia Incorporated, Alexandria, VA, USA
I have been fostering cats and kittens through AWLA since November of 2019. The staff are incredibly supportive and encouraging and have set up a community where other fosters and volunteers can share stories and trade advice. In the spring of 2021 I took in my first pregnant mama cat foster. One of her kittens, Smokey, was born with spina bifada and required specialized care. AWLA reached out to a non-profit that specialized in special-needs kitten care to give Smokey the best chance at a great life. They kept checking in on Smokey’s progress even though he was no longer under their direct care. Smokey is healthy and happy in his forever home where he can play and snuggle with another special-needs cat that he became best friends with. AWLA truly goes above and beyond to give their wards the best lives possible and give their fosters and volunteers wonderful and rewarding experiences.
