I had a rewarding experience volunteering with Gentle World Vegan. This intentional community is located in the idyllic and scenic northwest of the Big Island of Hawaii, which in my opinion is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. I left feeling centered after a few weeks of communing with nature and learning about vegan lifestyle. The wonderful group who live here were helpful, kind and inspiring.

My days were full but there was also time to take a walk, read, or just be. I worked in the garden de-weeding or mulching, helped prepare meals, cleaned the house, and walked the dogs. The cabin I stayed in was simple but clean and comfortable. As a city-dweller it took a day to get used to living partially outdoors. But I ultimately loved sleeping there, hearing the sounds of nature outside and breathing the crisp air.

I highly recommend a stay here for anyone who is interested in vegan lifestyle or sustainability.
