As a 20 year seasoned veteran of failed treatment attempts it was refreshing to arrive at MAAR. I could immediately since the difference when I arrived at my residence the first night. These were guys just like me, not the educated counselor types. We had all these different personalities living together working through normal life issues. After a 30 day period of intense in house treatment . They said ok it’s time to get a job you have 2 weeks, go. Meetings are an important part of recovery, everybody knows that. What Maar taught me was the importance of exercise, camaraderie, responsibility and contribution to society. I am a family man coming up on 6 years sober.
