I moved here a few years ago with my mother from Alaska. We moved to my grandmothers house to live with her so that we could take care of her as she had recently got metal plates in her knee. Everything was going fine until she got cancer and then suddenly everything was our fault. It really started to go downhill when I had to go get school supplies and the car was still half full of gas, it was a long day of shopping for both of us so mother forgot to put gas in the car, in which later she promised to fill it the following day. My grandmother flipped out. After yelling at mother she started ignoring us both. Skip forward a month or two. We had quite a few cats and a dog and we recently got a few additions to our family in the form of kittens. We came home to find the ac unit pulled out of the wall and a window ac in my grandmothers room. Seeing as we had animals, my mother had to spend 200$ on a window ac so our animals and newborn kittens didn't die of heat stroke. Skip forward a few weeks. My mother had offered to pay the electric bill but my grandmother said he had already gotten it paid. We later found out she did not by coming home to no electricity. Thats when we had to give up our animals and move out, one of our newborn kittens died along the way. We moved to The Mission, who has greatly helped us. Mother now had a job and is trying to get a second one to save up for a car. Its a very welcoming place here and I'm glad we were able to get in. Its a really great thing they have here, helping people who have nowhere else to go.
