I would like to reiterate what others have already mentioned about what makes SAFE one of the premier rescues in the United States. The care and compassion they have for horses in distress is top notch. Their books are open to the public for all to scrutinize their income and outgo. The horses are not warehoused. They are given professional training to open up the widest possibility for placement into new loving homes. Additionally, SAFE does continual follow-up on all of their placed horses and has gladly taken any back if the home did not work out in the best interests of the horse or the adopter. They are open and honest about each horse's condition, ability and any shortcomings be they physical or psychological.
SAFE should also be commended for their ability to say no. They know their financial limits and will not take on more horses than they are able to care for which is critical for stability in an economy where financial stability and donations have hit all time lows.
SAFE should absolutely be considered the standard by which ALL rescues should be judged. Honesty, integrity, care and compassion. The very traits that are the heart and soul of a truly stellar rescue. That is SAFE.

I adopted one of my horses from SAFE. He was slaughter bound due to a disability that has rendered him incapable of being ridden. SAFE's compassion and rescue includes all horses. From the very young to the very old, to the finest show prospects to the disabled. They all have found a home with SAFE.

Delegate more activities to volunteers to offload the Board of Directors.
