Review for Friends of Lakewold, Lakewood, WA, USA

Lakewold Gardens is one of my favorite escapes to peaceful, natural surroundings -- critical today in our rushed, stressful world. We spent my first Mother's Day there. I cherish a photo taken that day on the front lawn in front of a towering wall of rhododendrons with my late mother, my sister, and me holding the family's first grandchild. The gardens and the mansion have a magical quality -- a place where special memories are made.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Weddings, special events such as the Mother's Day Brunch and the Beautiful Tables Showcase, and as a member of the Junior League of Tacoma, which has held several meetings there.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Continue opening the gardens in summer evenings for picnics. Adding live music would be lovely.
