Review for Middleburg Humane Foundation, Marshall, VA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I've been with MHF for 13 or so years now and continue to be amazed by the work they do. When telling and bragging to people about this wonderful organization they often say how can you stand the sadness of seeing abused and neglected animals. My response is always the same, yes it is sad but just knowing that the moment they are placed in the compassionate and competent hands of Middleburg Humane all will be well.

After spending fun time with "the babies" I go home. The folks at MH live and breathe the pain and hardship of seeing the worst of what mankind is capable of, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. They fight to help our dear animal friends that can not fight for themselves. I can not express enough the admiration I have for this organization. It's one thing to complain or wish for change in the world, it's another to be strong enough to be a part of making those changes and that is what these incredible folks do every day!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I've seen emaciated, terrified animals come in that were days away from death. MH provides them with the medical, legal, emotional and behavioral care they need to survive and then great care is taken to find a loving, forever home to place them with. My family has adopted several dogs and birds over the years that would have ended up another heartbreaking statistic without the help Middleburg Humane.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

This is a hard one. Perhaps making sure all staff members feel they are on the same team. This can be a hard one for any organization. And making sure all fundraisers big or small get the exposure they need and deserve. Again easier said then done coming from a volunteer.

Role:  Volunteer & I've help with fundraisers, cleaning, shopping, behavioral work, walked, bathed, driving to and from appointments.
