Review for Operation Gratitude Inc, Chatsworth, CA, USA
About six years ago I saw a story about Operation Gratitude in our local newspaper. My husband and wanted to do something to help the war on terrorism but we are seniors and not able to serve in the armed forces. We showed up at the National Guard armory one day to volunteer and we were completely bowled over by the dedication, hard work and can-do attitude of the hundreds of people working to brighten the spirits of the brave men and women that volunteer to fight for us. We also saw that packages of donations and letters of support came flooding in from folks from all over the country, from Alaska to Hawaii. Since then we have seen Operation Gratitude grow to send over
600,000 packages. They try to be innovative and come up with new programs for reaching out to our troops and to involve the community
As well. It shows the best of American spirit.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I have read many letters from soldiers who received our packages. I found out how the beanie babies help the soldiers find bombs and how the sailors wear the beanies in their shirt pockets sometimes as they walk around the ship. I have seen photos of soldiers wearing their hand knit scarves and wiped tears from my eyes from the soldier who says"thank you, I never get mail".
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
