When I found DiepCFoundation, I had already completed my reconstruction. I opted for implants because the only other option I was aware of involved moving muscles. I now know that is not the case. I have learned all about the other options from the Journey and its resources. It is the best location I know of which covers all the options and has an accompanying support type group on Facebook. When I am told someone has breast cancer, I suggest they sign up for the Journey Facebook group because it provides a sense of community and there is someone there or a resource that can help with questions and concerns.
Providing all options for breast reconstruction along with support for those facing this difficult decision is so important and what every patient deserves to know. Our goal at the Foundation is to help close the gap for those who need these educational resources and support. Thank you kindly for sharing your story!
