Review for Immigration Equality, New York, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

This is a wonderful organization. The web-site is full of valuable information and links for those who are in the painful situation thrust upon United States citizens that happen to fall in love with a same-gender person in another country. It has not only valuable information, but a way to connect with others in this difficult situation. The organization has a personal approach and have personally reached out and helped those in need. They are also working very hard on our behalf, and give us something that is so needed, HOPE.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

through their blog, on television, through personal correspondence, through legislative action

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

not be as effective at the people already in charge.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

that I matter to them.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

were kind and respectful, and I felt they were really dedicated to working very hard our behalf.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

really help with getting information to those who could really make a difference. They seem to be on the front lines of equality.

Ways to make it better...

I could actually help out more, they do such great work.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

the fact that it is a relatively small amount of people facing this issue, that seems secondary to other LGBT organizations, yet they speak as loudly as they can on our behalf.

One thing I'd also say is that...

there are those of us who found ourselves in a position that don't even get this kind of respect from other well known LGBT organizations, Immigration Equality is a genuine organization.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009
