Review for Compassion International, Inc., Colorado Springs, CO, USA

Rating: 4 stars

We have sponsored children for about 20 years now. I can answer some of the questions asked here. Some pictures are repeats. It's difficult to have many children travel so far for new pictures. Sometimes the children are cranky or they are tierd. Which is also why they aren't always smiling. Communications are difficult. They do not always have wifi avalable in remote villages. We have had some crazy letters come through. Some were not translated. It happens. Sometimes compassion will hire for or sponsored children to work as consumer service help. Most of the time it is not an issue but ocassionally ( as for most customer service anywhere) there can be some difficultly in translating or understanding an accent. Don't sponser with compassion is communication is a huge need for you. I admit it is usually pretty frequent depending on what county your sponsored child is in.
The only issue I have had, is when a child leaves the program ( there are many reasons why) they automatically sign you up for a new child. Then if you wish to not take on the child. You are billed for the sponsership with out permission and then almostes shamed if you chose to cancel an account you never ask for. I understand there is a need to sponsor chikdren but shaming people into it isn't fair.
The adult program for sponsered children has been wonderful. I have enjoyed being a part of watching the sponsored children learn skills and trades.
