Review for World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA, USA
In 2011, I had the opportunity, along with 11 other young professionals fro Pittsburgh, to travel to Brussels and Prague for a week to learn more about the governance and structure of the European Union and how it affects or could affect our region's business. The trip was extremely well-organized; we had one session after another with high-level individuals representing a variety of different agencies, with just enough time in between for reflection and a little bit of sleep! Although I had been a student of European studies in college, a lot had changed in 10 years, and it truly opened my eyes to what the European Union is today, the challenges it faces in the years to come, and what it means for our region. I especially liked and appreciated the efforts of the World Affairs Council to provide guidance and support where necessary to help us understand the context behind what we were hearing from those with whom we met. Since that time, I have had the opportunity to attend several sessions that the Council has held here in Pittsburgh, and have been impressed every time with the quality of the speakers and the topics presented.

Review for North Hills Community Outreach Inc, Allison Park, PA, USA
I became involved with North Hills Community Outreach through its Community Auto program. The idea of repurposing donated cars by fixing them up and selling them at way below market value to needy individuals and families was so novel! Once involved, I became amazed and impressed by how well-run and well-managed the organization is. You can be sure that any donation given to NHCO is in good hands, and is going to help those who need it most.

Review for Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, Duquesne, PA, USA
I did a graduate school project involving staff management and organizational culture at the Food Bank several years ago. Through that experience, I became very familiar with the internal workings of the organization. The staff are dedicated; the managers are committed to excellence. They have an amazing efficiency rating. And Joyce, the CEO, is perfect for the job. She is truly committed to using every single dollar received by the organization to help the hungry in Pittsburgh. I now serve as an advisory board member and have the opprotunity to continue to watch the organization stretch and grow. I donate frequently because I know that my donation goes further at the Food Bank than it would at most other nonprofits.
