Review for Teaching for Change, Washington, DC, USA
2011 marks my 8th year on the board of Teaching for Change. I choose to volunteer with the organization because I believe in its mission and the valuable work that Teaching for Change does to make schools places that galvanize communities and help children become active and informed citizens.

Teaching for Change has conducted professional development workshops for my staff in my full time job. Their workshops are engaging and deeply informative. All of us left the session with concrete tools that we have been able to use to grow our community building efforts. My library is full of texts that Teaching for Change either published or sells online and in its bookstore. I appreciate having a source for progressive material that I often cannot find in other bookstores.

As with many small nonprofits, Teaching for Change needs financial support. We continue to seek ways to increase our fundraising base.
