I volunteered at SAFE for four years. It was really cool to get to work with the troubled horses. It was amazing to watch them gain trust in humans again, become good and loving animals so they could go off to a forever home. But SAFE is so much more than horses. I met so many amazing strong and caring women. Thoughtful people. The king of women you would want your young daughter to hang out with and emulate. I was fortunate to have several young high school girls on my crew and I loved watching them grow and build confidence. SAFE taught them a lot. They learned about responsibility and working together as a team.
The care and attention the SAFE organization gives to both the horses and their volunteers is unsurpassed. It’s the kind of place where you work hard and also have fun. Where you get back so much more than you give.
