My family was one of the first recipients of Birch Community Services and was able to stay with this program for many years. In the beginning, we were blessed with a few loaves of bread and a few miscellaneous items, but over time that changed to almost every single item on our table. The savings in the budget was incredible and because of them, my family was able to make ends meet and enjoy the things that would not have been possible. We never felt like we were less than others for the services that were provided to us, because of the amazing idea that we would volunteer our time to help run the organization. We were not only helping ourselves by working to provide for our family but also, we were supporting others so they could succeed. Today, Birch Community Services not only provides food and clothing but teaches others accountability, how to be financially responsible, learn to be debt-free, and plan for the future. This is an outstanding organization and I am still periodically blessed to be part of it.
