Review for Capital City Village, Austin, TX, USA
Every non profit has its culture. A top notch non profit serving persons wanting to age in place needs an exceptional culture of welcome, service, engagement & growth. Capital City Village meets the criteria for exceptional, in my book. I worked in community relations & with volunteers long term care for the state of Texas. I have friends in retirement communities, and many who want to stay independent. CCV deserves its high regard. Its constituency is diverse demographically, geographically, and economically. Effective leadership & willing member volunteers speaks volumes for it success, along with the diverse programs wonderful in person, and now well adapted to virtual.
My monthly highlight is participating in CCV Poetry program where men & women members share their poems and meaningful conversations about their poems reflecting life changing in themselves and around them. The intimacy and insights are treasured by each of us.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
establish a consistent funding stream to support its growing its membership and its capacity to serve. Perhaps a penny tax on general pharmacy services.
