The Equus Survival Trust is playing an important role in helping to safeguard and promote equine breeds. It is an unfortunate fact that 'red tape' can sometimes compromise and even threaten conservation efforts - and these issues can transcend breeds, countries and even continents. Especially where closed stud books create a 'brick wall' between pedigree and purebred equines, which can compromise both genetic diversity and overall breed health, of already endangered equine breeds. The Equus Survival Trust remains firmly interested in and supportive of the actual equines and is genuinely keen to help breed groups to navigate through sometimes obstructive 'rules and regulations' to improve opportunities to safeguard and preserve important bloodlines. This is a truly international organisation which does not see geographical boundaries as a problem, or engage in 'politics' - and this is reassuring and refreshing.
