I had the pleasure of touring the HART facility in January, 2020, and knew immediately that I wanted to support this very professional organization. As a lifelong owner of retired racing Thoroughbreds, I love the breed and am grateful that places like HART exist to retrain and rehabilitate these amazing horses so they can find new homes and make their owners as happy as mine have made me.

I could see how well the horses were cared for and was also impressed by the many volunteers I met and the various projects they’ve undertaken to improve the facility. The person conducting my tour knew all of the horses by name and was able to tell me about their personalities and history. (While HART focuses on rescuing Thoroughbreds, there were also other horses in their care, including some adorable Minis that help the organization with outreach. ) Overall, I came away with a deep appreciation for the amount of effort and expense required to run an equine rescue of this caliber and am proud to support HART’s efforts on behalf of retired racehorses.
