The hard-working journalists at Grist.org use humor to inform readers of important environmental issues. My personal favorites involve the controversy over Genetically Modified Organisms, but all aspects of food, pollution, activism, transportation, and personal lifestyle choices are covered. Ask Umbra is one of my favorite features: she is the "Dear Abby" of all things green. And Thomas Philpott, a food issues writer, provides thought-provoking reading.

This is a news service more than an activist service, but I might add links to sites that would enable readers to write law- and policy-making entities. Just a thought.
