Katal is co-led by distinct but complementary Co-Directors that have worked tirelessly for decades in drug policy, developing strategies to end incarceration. The organization has been majority female and it is indicative of the collaborative leadership they utilize. Katal is focused on building broad reforms that are moved forward and developed by stakeholders across multiple organizations using both traditional lobbying strategies and innovative community organizing methodologies. They work locally, on the state level, and nationally as well as within European countries.
