Anyone who gives of themself to help any animal, is a blessing.

I do rescue and rehabilitation of birds. I have over 30 years experience in the care, treatment and housing of birds. It is not easy, nor is it cheap. You must be fully committed to their care 24/7.

Aside from providing food & water, you must also provide toys and mental/social stimulation.
They require bathing, nail trims, beak trims, help with pin feathers and vet care.
When you aren't doing any of that, you must clean their cage(s) and you are gonna get dirty doing so.
Birds poop....a lot. And they poop everywhere.

They can be extremely loud and at times destructive. They are also prone to mood swings, often unexpected mood swings. One minute you're petting the bird and the next you're crying in pain and trying to stop the blood from your bite wound.

For a very long time I have followed Burge Bird Rescue. The photos shared by them on social media,show a wide variety of very well cared for and loved birds.

Anyone who gets into.the field of rescuing birds and stays with it as long as Burge Bird Rescue has, deserves our utmost respect and more importantly.....our support.
