Oh, I know those guys! They started on pure enthusiasm, worked without funding for many months to fund fundamental anti-aging research which is not getting govermental or commercial attention. They work on something everybody needs, but nobody does yet, because it's too new and too counterintuitive at a glance. These are bunch of the most proactive and brilliant people from all over the world.

I myself tried to help them couple of times earlier with what I can, yet I can't be considered a real volunteer. I'm consistently following their findings as much as I can now, and hope to take more engaged in the near future.
