I actually work as an on-call volunteer at the Sts. Simon and Jude conference of St. Vincent De Paul. As we have no paid workers, all of our funds go to the people in need. Our volunteers are caring and thoughtful and look forward to our weekly on-call experience each month. The pandemic caused us to change our procedures to minimize our exposure to our clients but we quickly established new ways for helping out the needy. We also have a healthy Pantry, totally funded by the food contributions from our generous parish. When we cannot directly help a client financially, we have a comprehensive list of referral organizations and services that are dedicated to specific areas of need. We have a vibrant annual Thanksgiving Dinner program and from time to time support an Easter program, as well. I have to say that I have truly enjoyed my past five years with St. Vincent De Paul!
