Timucuan Parks Foundation is the best nonprofit volunteer experience I have had. We work in teams in the outdoors, which has been wonderful during the pandemic, and the TPF leadership is motivated and talented. We also find that our small donations are very much appreciated. I especially enjoyed the opportunity to take part in a scientific study in the marsh. Even though we were covered with mud and grass up to our thighs, it was such a fun break from our usual life! On other outings, we have removed invasive plants, maintained trails, readied a park for hiking, and painted a portion of a historic house. My favorite experience, though, was reverently cleaning out overgrown weeds in the old slave cabins at Kingsley Plantation. It was an honor to do so.
