I created a media project for Kenya Connect in early 2018 as a part of a college course. During the course, I had the opportunity to travel to Kenya and directly engage with Kenya Connect’s staff and the community they serve. From what I saw and heard, Kenya Connect had an incredible impact on the lives of the children in Machakos County. With limited resources, they were able to provide technology training, books and additional learning materials, fun activities like dance, solar lights so they could read after dark, resources to improve student health, and more. Kenya Connect is deeply immersed and trusted in the community, and their creativity and perseverance shine through all their work. Thank you, Kenya Connect, for your positive influence on the community, on me, and on others.
