Review for Wild Nest Bird Rehab, Decatur, GA, USA
I volunteer with Wild Nest caring for the birds. I am pursuing my permit to become a songbird rehabilitator and Nancy was kind to allow me to train and expand my knowledge through a volunteer opportunity. The compassion and caring of all the volunteers and organizers is amazing! We take in and care for hundreds of injured or orphaned birds and each one is assessed, receives appropriate medical care and nutrition, and if possible, is rehabilitated with the goal of releasing them to the wild so they can live normal lives.
It's an amazing experience to volunteer, knowing you're helping these beautiful creatures. We have cared for everything from nests of baby Finches to a Crow with a broken leg to orphaned Herons, Robins and Cardinals. We have cared for injured birds from cat-caught incidents to window strike traumas, broken wings or legs, to birds caught in glue traps.
When I leave for home at the end of my shift, my heart is always full! Wild Nest does an amazing job with wild bird rehabilitation!
