In addition to supporting Kenya Connect financially, I was able to travel to Kenya in October of 2019 and to see the work done directly by the Kenyan Connect staff and teachers. There is nothing like seeing the people on the ground to know how the mission is being fulfilled. I was not disappointed. Even after two years, I am humbled by the dedicated, intensely focused drive of the adults that I witnessed in and out of the classroom to benefit these children. As many other volunteers have noted in previous reviews, the staff and the teachers work wonders with little resources, covering not just intellectual needs, but personal and social needs. The addition of the Learning Resource Center which is under construction will further enhance their ability to empower the children Kenya for the twenty-first century. I consider it an honor to have seen it first hand and will continue to support it financially in the years ahead.
