Review for Kauai Humane Society, Lihue, HI, USA
I have had multiple dealings with the Kauai Humane Society. And they have always been so helpful and so focused on taking care of the animal population here. Living here gives you immediate awareness of how many feral cats there are. The Humane Society will provide you with cages to capture the cats and if you bring them in they will neuter them. They also do many fundraising events to support their programs and sustain the care of the island animals.
Personally I adopted a feral cat here on Kauai. And then needed to move back to the mainland for a period of time with the cat. When I came back to Kauai there is a rigorous program to make sure that rabies does not get introduced onto the island. At this time there is no rabies here. They helped me navigate through the paperwork and schedule so my cat could come with me when I returned without any problems. They have a wonderful representative from the Humane Society that meets you as you deplane, does the necessary exam and review of all your paperwork. And then releases the animal, if everything is in order, so you can take them home with you.
The employees and the services they provide are so essential, and so well organized, I can't say enough about how important and how lucky Kauai is to have this wonderful organization.
