Review for Assistance League of Charlotte, CHARLOTTE, NC, USA
I joined Assistance League of Charlotte in 2013 because I was excited by the members' dedication to improving the lives of children in our community. Our programs truly make a difference. Operation School Bell improves school attendance and self esteem by providing school uniforms and supplies; Operation Check Hunger provides nutritious food and kitchen supplies; Mecklenburg County Teen Court assists juvenile offenders to take responsibility for their actions and learn from their mistakes; and our Scholarships for academics, the arts, summer camp and trades make a difference in young peoples' futures. Our member volunteers work diligently to raise funds in our Thrift Store as well as obtain grants and donations from our community. Our hard work to transform lives and strengthen community was recently recognized when we were named National Philanthropy Day Outstanding Philanthropic Organization Award for Charlotte in 2020. And we have fun doing it all with dedicated members. I am proud to be a member volunteer!
