I have been a proud member of the best Golden Retriever Rescue in the country (I feel) for the past 30 years. I became interested in the Rescue back when Governor Ed Rendell was a supporter of the Rescue with his Goldens (that were lucky to live in the Governor's Mansion). Everyone at DVGRR from the volunteers to the staff are the kindest most wonderful people and the facilities are amazing. I always feel happy that all the fur babies there are in the very best hands until they are matched to their new fur ever homes. I so look forward to the stories and information publications in the DVGRR mails and newsletters they send (love all the adoptive Family stories especially!) and quickly open my DVGRR calendar to read each month and see all the lucky pups included there. I love the stories of taking in Goldens, Labs and doodles from across the country in times of natural disasters and also taking some of the darling pups from Puerto Rico to help other rescues. They are always looking to improve and expand but always keeping in mind the pups welfare. Every year there is a huge charity event in November that encompasses all 'types' of charities (human and pet) and it has never failed to amaze me how dedicated all the many DVGRR supporters are in helping the Rescue and they always seem to end up in the Top 10 Rescues. That is true love of DVGRR. I just can't say enough good things about this organization and the kindest giving people who are all part of it.
