My Nonprofit Reviews

I first encountered Mexico Medical Missions in 2009 on a mission trip with my church. We visited the hospital in a very remote area located in the Sierra Madre mountains. This mission hospital was founded many years ago to serve the indeginous people group known as the Tarahumara. Dr. Mike and Maci Berkeley founded this nonprofit as a Christian mission full service hospital. They have helped tens of thousands of the Tara people with everything from malnutrition, Tuberculosis, emergency trauma care, general and orthopedic surgery, dentistry, and midwife child delvery. In addition they have a water well drilling program, community health outreach program, and agricultural program. They have been recognized many times by the Mexican government and major US philanthropic organizations such as Samaritan's Purse for their work. I joined Mexico Medical's board as a director in 2012 and have been very impressed with the governance program of this outstanding nonprofit. Their stewardship of the charitable funds they receive is exemplary.
