Review for Menlo Charity Horse Show, Woodside, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The Menlo Charity Horse Show benefits Vista Center for the Blind & Visually Impaired. Vista Center is the premier resource for individuals with vision loss in San Mateo Santa Clara, an Benito and Santa Cruz Counties, serving approximately 2,500 clients and families each year. They enable their clients to achieve their highest potential through programs that promote independence and improve their quality of life.
The Menlo Charity Horse Show has a AA rating which is the highest rating a show can have. It attracts past Olympian riders and future Olympian riders as well as many professionals and amateurs.
It is a 6-day show with over 140 volunteers that are dedicated to helping others less fortunate.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Over the 26 years that the horse show has benefited Vista we have been able to donate over $4 million dollars which go directly to helping clients in low vision evaluations, social services, Orientation and Mobility training, living skills instruction, teaching Braille, opening a health library and most important teaching the visually impaired live in a complex sighted world.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would like to educate their board on fund raising and do a better job of marketing their product.

Role:  Board Member & I am one of 6 co chairs who oversee the many committees. I was the founder 40 years ago and have enjoyed the association of both the agency and the committee members.
