Save the Chimps is what I consider a true sanctuary to be. The utmost respect for the resident chimpanzees is evident in every way, primarily in the decision to allow the chimpanzees to live the balance of their lives with dignity in a safe habitat that does not depend on revenue from visitors in its funding formula. They are not on display to humans and have been able to form troops and establish social bonds that are so important to the well being of chimpanzees. After years of service to humans, they are now living their best lives that is possible in their retirement.
