March 2, 2002 I was out with a group of Friends riding my dirt bike at the sand dunes. A bad wind storm began. We decided to be safe and return to our camp and wait for the storm to pass. Unfortunately on this ride back to camp I had a bad accident. I broke my back at my T-12 vertebrae causing a Spinal Cord Injury and paralysis from my waist down. As I Paraplegic I have strived to always STAY POSITIVE and continue living my Life the same as before my accident only now I do things sitting down. I heard about The High Fives Foundation and after learning more about it, I Admired everything about this group. I really wanted to be a part of such an Awesome group of people in situations like mine! One of the sports I have wanted to return to was Surfing. I reached out to The High Fives Foundation and applied for a grant for a Mac Waveski to help me accomplish my goal of Surfing. I feel Very Lucky and Blessed that my grant application was approved! The members of the High Fives Foundation have been Great Welcoming into their Family and helping myself and others like me to achieve our goals. I’m Very Grateful for the opportunity to be a part of The High Fives Foundation, to continue chasing my goals, and also to Hopefully help others in the future!
