All non-profits do their best to help. But RedPaw serves a unique need in a selfless, 24/7 manner. Getting out of bed in snow, ice, rain snd heat to not only look for/rescue the animals from a fire scene, but also to make sure that the humans know that someine xares about their dear pets. I so afmire their work!

I have volunteered at Ryerss since August 2004. I learned there that horses are majestic animals and require special care unlike our other closely-held animals (cats, dogs, birds). They are delicate despite their strength. I have observed that care provided by Ryerss consistently: to retired prize racehorses as well as to a mare who had been found in a swamp with her head beaten. Just last year, a pregnant mare was rescued and able to safely deliver a healthy colt. Equally important is what Ryerss does for people: the education, the opportunity for young folks in some difficulty to perform their community service at Ryerss, the bond between staff and volunteers which has sustained many of us during dark times. It is a jewel on a hill, a magnet to those who know its value.
