Review for Mollys House Inc, Stuart, FL, USA
The past 3 years have been enlightening and heartwarming as I have come to know the the people who nurtured Molly Sharkey's dream of a temporary home for families of people receiving medical care on Florida's Treasure Coast; many of the people who actively participated in the creation of Molly's House; the financial supporters; the volunteers who keep Molly's House open 24/7/365; the staff that constantly strives to find new ways to increase the value of Molly's House in the community; and most importantly, the many beneficiaries of the services provided.
There is nothing more meaningful than responding to someone in their hour of need. When a loved one requires hospitalization or another form of medical care, most people respond without thought for their own needs. Molly's House fills that void in a warm, sympathetic, supportive environment.
Thousands of people from all over the world will confirm unequivocally that the need is great and rarely considered. The world is a better place thanks to the vision of a terminally ill young lady and loving parents who honored her dream.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
...visiting with guests who have stayed at Molly's House, and observing them during the course of their stays.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
...give them the million dollars they need to make Molly's House entirely self-sustaining, thereby freeing staff from the labor and time required for constant fund-raising activities.

Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)
It has helped me understand the pressures that most people live with as an aging population puts an increased burden upon family and friends. No one is immune to the pain of a late nite phone call, an email message, or even a knock on the door followed by one of the harshest realities of life: Your mother has been hospitalized. Your dad just had a heart attack. Your brother has been in a terrible accident. Your son...
How did this volunteer experience make you feel?
That awareness is humbling and has helped me find a compassion for my fellow man.
