Not only am I a fan of Assistance League® of Las Vegas but I'm also the President this year! I've been with the League for over 13 years and I am continually amazed at the wonderful member volunteers we have and all the programs we deliver. Our signature program, Operation School Bell®, clothes over 7,000+ students a year giving them the clothes they need to be successful in school. Our Operation Bear Hug is one of my favorites as when I was a firefighter, I actually handed out these bears to children in crisis making a devastating experience a bit better to handle.

Our programs go on and on impacting the lives and strengthening the local Las Vegas community. We also operate a very successful Thrift Shop that helps keep the lights on and our building in tip top condition so we can do what we love best, helping right here in our valley. Come by our Thrift Shop at 6446 W. Charleston (between Rainbow and Torrey Pines) and see why we have been voted best Thrift Shop in Las Vegas for 6 years in a row! Plus, we help recycle clothes giving them a second life and purpose. Make sure to drop off your high-end clothing Friday & Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm, it will put a smile on our face and dollars towards our programs. YOU can make a difference and help your community by cleaning out your closet!!!

Assistance League of Las Vegas has been a driving force in supporting the community and children in the valley for over 45-years! The dedication and support of its members has made a tremendous difference in the lives of those that live here. From providing a weeks worth of clothing to a child in need, a bear to hug in an emergency, to supporting over 68 schools with a closet full of clothes for children who have an immediate need, they are there!

They offer 14 unique and varied programs from scholarships to local graduating students, layettes to hospitals, shadow buddies for doctors and nurses to demonstrate procedures when in the hospital, to books and more! All this by a volunteer workforce that is 100% from the worker/volunteer to the President of the organization.

Come and visit their Thrift Shop voted one of the best in Las Vegas for the last 5-years and deservingly so. Recently remodeled and expanded, they help recycle the communities clothes keeping them out of landfills and offering an alternative way to shop. All of this while helping to underwrite their mission of transforming lives and strengthening communities. Your donations of gently used clothing supports the local community and the mission!

What an amazing organization with a great mission! The community impact is vast and it is run by a dedicated group of volunteers committed to their mission of transforming lives and strengthening their community. Their success is measured in smiles from a young child receiving a weeks worth of new clothes, to a child victim of trauma getting a teddy bear to help ease their suffering, or, a memory box given to parents that just lost a baby, plus many more programs designed to help the local community. It’s a valuable part of Las Vegas and one anyone would be proud to be associated with as a volunteer or a supporter!
