I grew up in an orphanage. When I was 18 and moved to Kostroma I didn’t even have a place to spend a night. My friends told me about the Orphan’s Tree Ministry Center and went there to seek help. I stayed at the Ministry Center for two weeks and then the ministry helped me with advice and guidance. When I had a baby, they helped me learn to care about my daughter and supported me in every way. Several years ago, when my daughter was 2 years old, I had no money to place her in day care. So I had an idea to start my own day care! Orphan’s Tree believed in me and provided support, and today my day care serves up to 30 children from the community. I’ve also been part of Orphan’s Tree Peer-to-Peer Mentorship program as a mentor, and some of my mentees interned in my day care. This ministry is very needed. I’m grateful for everything they’ve done for me and for many other older orphans!
