Since 1996, the staff members at Support Connection have been providing free & confidential help, hope, support & information to people affected by breast, ovarian & other gynecological cancers. All of the peer counselors are cancer survivors & know what it feels like to face a diagnosis of cancer. Every time I volunteer, I feel I'm part of a big caring family. All of the staff & volunteers are dedicated, supportive, compassionate people.

I had ovarian cancer 29 years ago and it was a very frightening time for me. I didn't know anyone who had gone through a cancer diagnosis, who could understand and help to ease my fears. Two years after my treatment ended, I heard that Support Connection was opening in Yorktown Heights, NY. Their mission is to support people dealing with breast, ovarian or any gynecological cancer. They needed volunteers, so I offered to help in any way I could. I've been part of this wonderful organization ever since. I've seen, first-hand, how their caring peer counselors (all cancer survivors themselves) give hope and knowledge to women facing a cancer diagnosis.
