I had just lost my black long coated German Shepherd, Mystic and my heart was broken. I had started to look and found Coastal German Shepherd Rescue of S. CA. My friends had asked me if I was going to get another black German Shepherd ... Yes! I think that they are stunning. While on vacation in Hawaii, I came across Hadley. He had an incredible bio of him by Richard ... my response was "SH_T". My Mom said, you are going to go get him, Right? Right! I had some bad experiences with other rescues but "everyone" was just fabulous! His past homes crated him to much, thin, weak back legs, never out the front door ... my neighbors laughed but Captain was messing with the wrong woman. He was 3 years old and will be 12 in February. He overcame all his past fears and everyone thinks that he is just fabulous. Thank You to all the wonderful people at Coast German Shepherd Rescue of Southern CA. I called one Rescue and asked how much a dog weighed. The response, it is a German Shepherd. I wanted a smaller one but Captain is 93lbs. I found another dog that no one wanted but me- female, long coasted, 3 years old, etc. It would be indoor/outdoor and he said no. He held onto that dog for 1 year before getting the "right" home. When needed my neighbors come and put my dogs in or out. I had also paid people to stay in my house and more. Needless to say, I ended up with the BEST One and the volunteers with Coastal German Shepherd Rescue of S. CA are Fabulous ... Thank You!
