Visiting National Parks was our dreamed-of family summer vacation. Half the fun was planning the trip and reading about the parks as we sat around the dining table. My parents were journalists of great humor and enthusiasm, who turned life into a sporting adventure of joy and curiosity and learning. Years later ,I was married in the century-old wooden chapel in Yosemite National Park and treasure memories of returns in all seasons. I want to help assure that these best of times and best of places are sustained and maintained for years to come so that others can have similar life -changing memories of what is really important about America. Parks are the nation’s “gathering place” to experience beauty, fellowship, storytelling and equal opportunity to explore and wonder. The NPCA Is an esteemed and respected protector of these treasured spaces that belong to us all.
