The Community Tax Law Project (CTLP) is a unique, small agency that provides free legal assistance to taxpayers who have a tax controversy with the IRS. It is well-run with an extremely low overhead. It was the first low income taxpayer clinic in the country, founded by Nina Olsen who is now the IRS National Taxpayer Advocate. CTLP allows the working poor and elderly access to legal tax help when the IRS or the Virginia Dept. of Taxation has denied taxpayers the opportunity or resources to rectify their tax problems. CTLP is a remarkable agency with a tiny staff and a huge cadre of volunteer attorneys and accountants. CTLP is profoundly effective and deserving of your charitable donation for its projects.
