Review for Big Apple Greeter, New York, NY, USA
Hi
i have had the extreme pleasure to have served as a Big Apple Greeter volunteer for the past 2.5 years. During this time I have provided numerous families with visits to some of Manhattan's beautiful neighborhoods. The visits have included SoHo, NoHo, Tribeca, The West Village, Chelsea, The High Line, The Meat Packing District and Little Italy. Each visitor has commented on how much they have enjoyed their visit. Their effusive praise of the Big Apple Greeter Program was music to the ears of this native New Yorker. Each visitor commented on being able to see a side/view of N.Y. that they never would have seen with any other venue. The Big Apple Greeter program affords visitors with the opportunity to learn about what a wonderful city New York is. The neighborhoods/ homes of the West Village, the galleries/architecture of SoHo, the sights/restaurants and neighborhood of Little Italy, the beautiful St. Patrick's Basilica of No Ho, the galleries of Chelsea and the extremely popular/graceful High Line and the gentrification of the meat packing district The value of each of these experiences is priceless. The positive exposure that the program provides in boosting our town's image is also priceless. Exponentially the cities' positive image grows with each visit. The Greeter Program provides a unique opportunity for people to learn what a great city New York is.

If i had to make changes I would try to improve the organization's financial footing. Programs like this are critical to keeping N.Y.C the mecca for tourists that it has become.
