My family and i have been to New York on several ocassions and have used the B A G services twice. A great experience and a view of the Big Apple we may never have seen if it were not for this worthwhile organisation. We visited Brooklyn on our first visit, did you know there is a Russian community there and all the shop signs and everything else is in Russian, amazing and in the middle of NYC. Harlem was also a wonderful few hours of learning. The fact that the early settlers were Jewish and the Black population and the jazz era came later. To see the places where great black jazz artists lived and worked and experiencing the local community.
Our guides were local people, who shared their knowledge with us. And in all honesty they were lovely people, who loved showing off their city. we probably saw and learned about things you would never hear about on a paid tour. We loved every minute of it.
Do yourself a big favour, next time your in the Big Apple get yourself a Greeter. I guarantee you will enjoy it. It's a free service and the best few hours you may have the whole trip.
