I had 5 dogs at 1 time. 3 of them passed away in 2012. The 4th in 2013 and the last, the youngest, was diagnosed with cancer (in his right front leg) in late 2013. His vet said he had about 4 months. With the vet’s help he lived just shy of 2 years from his diagnosis. The cancer later jumped into his front left leg and not too long after we had to put him down. When he passed we decided no more dogs.
About a month or so went by and I saw a little puppy on FB posted by Fur-Angel Foundation. He was so cute and I felt we need the energy of our dog in our lives again, and not a dog from a breeder or pet store. We made arrangements to meet the pup with Tiffany, co-founder of Fur-Angel Foundation. She did tell us in advance that someone else was interested in the puppy and had already met the puppy. She called us later to let us know the first couple wanted the puppy. She said if we were interested, she had another rescue we could meet. She was a tiny terrier chihuahua mix, black with a little white. She was rescued from a home that had about 69 dogs living inside and out. She was very timid and shy but she immediately took to my boyfriend. She sat comfortably on his lap and melted his heart. We had to fill out a application and then Tiffany needed to come and check out our home and see how the little one reacted. We were happy to be accepted. A few weeks went by and we felt that our new little “Hanai”, AKA Princess Lea, should have a companion to keep her company when we are at work. I reached out to Tiffany again and she said there was another dog that was being fostered with Hanai and he was still looking for a forever home. So we met him and it was obvious Hanai loved him. Both of them were so happy to see each other. So we applied and we’re successful in adopting “Olale’a”, AKA Raider. Both were already spayed and neutered by Fur-Angel team.
We are getting ready to celebrate 6 years with these 2 little loves. They bring so much joy to our lives and to each other. They are inseparable. Thank you Tiffany and Kiley for introducing us to our 2 4-legged kids. You do Great work with all the puppies and dogs you rescue and foster, and finding forever homes for them. Thank you, Thank you!
