Review for Big Cat Rescue, Corp., Odessa, FL, USA
Big Cat Rescue is the most educational animal rescue I’ve ever encountered. I have leaned so much from watching their Q&A walkabouts with Brittany and Carole. They are a GFAS (Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries) which means that they do not buy, sell, trade, breed or touch any of their animals. They respect the cats and care for them by providing spacious cages with natural foliage. Their cats have been rescued from the circus, other animal organizations that closed down, from private owners, or confiscated by their state, etc. In addition to their daily breakfast, they provide the cats with bloodsicles or tunasiciles every day as a way to provide the cats with daily enrichment and increase their water intake. They also provide seasonal enrichment such as watermelons, pumpkins, turkeys, and Christmas trees. They are determined to get the Big Cat Public Safety Act passed which would prohibit cub petting — the number one force behind the breeding industry of big cats. Their staff and volunteers are incredibly knowledgeable and caring. I am a huge fan of Big Cat Rescue and am so proud to call myself a supporter.
