“While working for the LatinX Go Team program one of our clients needed assistance with paying utilities, rent, food and household items, food as well with Mental Health support. She was struggling with getting adapted to the new normal in this pandemic time as well as recuperating from a surgery. She was really worried about not being able to go back to work and with this she was dealing with some stress and depression caused by being behind in paying bills.

This was a clear example of social determinants of health that were not quite there to lead a stable and happy life. While I worked with her giving her Psychological first aid, she expressed she was feeling better being able to talk to someone about her difficulties, also LatinX Go Team was able to help her with food, a gift card, and referred her to different NWFS programs to pay her utilities. During times like these, it is hard to see light at the end of the tunnel. We sometimes forget how much of an impact listening to somebody can do for their spirit.

She was so thankful for all the help and stated that no one ever helped before like our team was able to help her.
