Over 40 years ago I was invited to volunteer at a fund raiser for concern. Immediately I recognized that the other volunteers were passionate about this cause to find a cure for cancer and most of the money raised went to research, not overhead. Nothing's changes except I am a Board Member, I am still volunteering with other passionate volunteers, knowing, every dollar raised over 90 to 95% of the money will support a new researcher who we hope will get us closer to finding a cure for cancer.

I have been involved with Concern since the early 80's, first as a volunteer and for approx. the last 10 - 15 years as a board member. Concern's focus from day one, find a cure for Cancer. Keep the overhead to a minimum by: not having a fancy office, the cost of the fund raising events are kept to a minimum by working hard to get sponsorships, find volunteers to run the events and grant researchers that have been vetted as best as possible through Concern's knowledgeable committees of doctors and researchers. The costs of the events are kept low but the events are spectacular.
