Review for Big Apple Greeter, New York, NY, USA
My friend and I came over from England to New York for first time in 2001. I had read about the Big Apple Greeter organisation while gathering information about the city.
I sent and e-mail and organised a volunteer to meet us at our hotel and take us to one of the two areas of New York that we wanted to explore. Our volunteer was a lovely man called Robert who guided us across the city by the subway to Greenwich Village.
We had such an excellent time with him giving us lots of information and showing us many things that we would have otherwise missed. He was very proud of his city and we really enjoyed talking to him about his city . Our visit took place the Easter after 9/11 so it was very interesting for us to get an "insiders" view on events.
We have been back many times since then and love New York and would recommend anybody visiting the Big Apple to contact this wonderful organisation.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Having a guide show us Greenwich Village.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I don't feel any changes are needed......it's a brilliant concept and more cities ought to set such organisation up!
