Young orphans are not well prepared to navigate the world on their own, especially after graduation from an orphanage and finding themselves all on their own. They lack many basic life skills, guidance to make right decisions, and insights about the opportunities available to them. I have been involved with Orphan’s Tree for over 15 years and witnessed first hand the great programs that Orphan’s Tree set to help young Russian orphans find their way in life, and feel a little bit less alone. I especially appreciate the programs where orphans become mentors for other orphans and participate in volunteer projects. I have watched Orphan’s Tree become not just a remarkable support network but also “family” for these young people. This is truly a great organization doing fantastic work helping orphan graduates find their way in the real world!
